Jacob Anderskov (church organ) [DK]
————
A true gem of the Danish scene, Jacob Anderskov has as pianist, band leader and composer been described as “belonging to the most extraordinary artists of contemporary music” (Jazz Podium, Germany, May 2010), and has received numerous awards, “Danish Jazz Composer of the Year 2013” at Danish Music Awards Jazz, and was nomination for Nordic Council Music Price (Nordisk Råds Musikpris) in 2018.
Anderskov’s music moves effortlessly between improvisation, new compositional music, jazz, folklore and classical. It’s clean and dirty. It’s grand and simplistic. It’s unshakable and highly present.
Anderskov has released close to 20 albums as bandleader. In the autumn of 2014 he performs a string of solo concerts and finishes off with a solo recording at Rainbow Studio.
Here he’ll play an unique improvised church organ set!
Zoe Efstathiou + Egil Kalman (prepared piano & modular synth) [GR/NO]
————
The improvising electroacoustic duo of Zoe Efstathiou (prepared piano, electronics) and Egil Kalman (modular synthesizer, double bass), explores the materiality of space by sculpting sound objects which are dynamically changing through interaction and improvisation. Subtle nuances alter the surface characteristics and boundaries of the objects, evoking a sensuous and tangible experience. The piano, through the use of extended techniques is explored in its timbral possibilities and serves as a surface for tactile explorations, often imitating the electronic world. The modular synthesizers take the form of physical masses, projecting the gravitational and material attributes of the sound with their formations. The music reflects the ephemeral, the transient state between future and past, inviting the listener to experience time as a superficial characteristic of reality.

Teguh Permana + Yngel (tarawangsa & guitars) [ID/DK]
————
Teguh Permana, the master of Tarawangsa tradition – the sacred music from Sundanese West Java, Indonesia, will perform an improvised set with the experimental Danish guitar super duo Yngel (Emil Palme & Taus Bregnhøj-Olesen)! This is one of these situations which makes my heart and brain melt – Teguh is a true musician-magician and this meeting of musical cultures will surely deliver y’all to another plane. Miss not!
