Saurabh Vartak – flute (INDIA)
Saurabh Vartak developed a fascination for Indian classical music at the tender age of 8. He learnt harmonium for 12 years under the guidance of Shri Madhav Marne, the senior most disciple of harmonium maestro, Pandit Appa Saheb Jagaonkar. In the year 2007, he attended a live performance of the legendary Flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at ‘The Sawai Gandharva Music Festival’. Spellbound by the magic of Panditji’s mellifluous performance, he took his musical journey ahead on the melodious path of Flute. After completing his graduation in Electronics & Telecommunication with flying colors, he started learning flute from the flute legend Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. Saurabh has got the privilege to perform with Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia in numerous concerts including the prestigious Sawai Gandharva Music Festival.
Saurabh had always dreamt to start a flute academy to carry forward the legacy of his Guru, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. Pune lacked a music academy dedicated to the flute. With an intention to give an opportunity to aspiring flute learners in Pune, he founded his flute academy in February 2018. Today his academy has around 350 students learning flute from India as well as abroad. Saurabh also conducts online lessons to teach flute across the globe. Saurabh laid the foundation of his academy with the blessings of his Guruji and inaugurated his academy at the hand of his Guru Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia in April 2018.
