Irmgard:

Irmgard repræsenterer en utopisk, omsorgsfuld skikkelse. Irmgard er et fæstningsværk, der beskytter ens fantasiverden. Med projektet Irmgard skaber lydkunstner og komponist Astrid Nørgaard musikalske rum, der giver plads til, at flyde væk og fantasere – et tiltrængt pusterum. Astrid tager i projektet udgangspunkt i fantasivæsenet Irmgard – en karakter, der er vokset frem de seneste år – og afsøger med sine elektroakustiske værker, hvad Irmgard er og symboliserer. På sit kommende debutalbum “Irmgard Irmgaard”, der bliver udgivet d. 13. oktober 2023, søger Astrid, med inspiration fra sin mors vævning, at spejle vævekunstens langsomme gentagelser, taktilitet og enkelhed.

Første Kvartal:

Den københavnske kvartet Første Kvartal består af Adam Blinkenberg Koch, Andreas Høegh, Mads Krue Bugge og Martin Messell. Den 30. september 2023 udkommer albummet ‘Ærø’ – det første udspil fra den elektro-akustiske improvisationskvartet.
I vinteren 2021 tog gruppen til Ærø, hvor de indspillede en række improvisationer, der blev grundlaget for albummet. Musikken bevæger sig i grænselandet mellem både det akustiske og elektriske, og spænder fra dyster dramatik til meditativ tilstandsmusik. Koncerten d. 30 september, er således en invitation ind i gruppens kollektive kompositions process, hvor improvisation møder live-sampling i et både intimt og vidtfavnende musikalsk univers.

Irmgard represents a utopian, attentive and caring figure. Irmgard is a fortress, protecting your fantasy world. With the project Irmgard, composer and sound-artist Astrid Nørgaard creates musical spaces which enables the listener to float away and fantasise – a much needed respite. With the project, Astrid takes a point of departure in the imaginary creature of Irmgard – a character which has developed over the last couple of years – and investigates through her electro-acoustic works what Irmgard is and what it symbolises. On the forthcoming debutalbum “Irmgard Irmgard”, which releases on the 13th of October 2023, Astrid seeks, with inspiration from her mothers weaving, to reflect the art of weaving and its slow, repetitive tactility and simplicity.

Første Kvartal:

The Copenhagen-based quartet Første Kvartal consists of members Adam Blinkenberg Koch, Andreas Høegh, Mads Krue Bugge og Martin Messell. On the 30th of September 2023, the album ‘Arø’ will be released. This is the first release from the electro-acoustic improvisational quartet. In the winter of 2021, the group went to the Danish island of Ærø where they recorded a number of improvisations, which formed the foundations for the compositions on the album. The music resonates in the space between both the acoustic and the electric, and stretches from sombre drama to meditative ambient. The concert on the 30th of September, will, therefore, be an invitation into the collective compositional process of the group, where improvisation meets live-sampling in a both intimate and expansive musical universe.
